Pantoprazole Na sesquihydrate 40 mg, domperidone 30 mg
Indications/Uses
Management of GERD; gastritis, non-ulcer dyspepsia, gastric or duodenal ulcer, dyspepsia, bloating, fullness, belching, NSAID-induced dyspepsia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 cap daily before breakfast at around the same time daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Take 30-60 min before first daily intake of food. Swallow whole, do not chew.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Pantoprazole: Bacterial overgrowth in GIT w/ long term use. Not recommended in childn <12 yr. Domperidone: Increases serum prolactin levels resulting to galactorrhoea in females & gynaecomastia in males.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness. Pantoprazole: Diarrhoea, pruritus, skin rashes, GIT infections; anaphylaxis, angioedema, chest pain, dyspnea, erythema multiforme, gastroenteritis, hyperglycaemia, infection, jaundice, optic neuropathy, anterior ischaemia, pancreatitis, speech disorders. Domperidone: Headache, insomnia, nervousness, thirst, lethargy, irritability, GP disturbances, hot flushes, mastalgia, galactorrhoea, gynaecomastia, menstrual irregularities, rash, pruritus, urticaria, stomatitis, conjunctivitis, urinary frequency, dysuria, oedema, palpitations, leg cramps, asthaenia, drug intolerance.
Drug Interactions
Pantoprazole: May possibly interfere w/ absorption of ketoconazole, ampicillin esters, & Fe salts. Domperidone: May inhibit the anti-dyspeptic effect w/ anti-cholinergic drugs. Antagonized effect w/ antimuscarinic agents & opioid analgesics. Suppress peripheral effects of dopaminergic agonists. Interfere w/ other hypoprolactinaemic agents & w/ some diagnostic tests. Decreased oral bioavailability w/ antacids & anti-secretory agents; cimetidine or Na carbonate.
